Host Merchant Services lets you accept payments in-store, online, and on the go. This includes EMV chip cards, contactless “tap” payments, mobile wallets like Apple Pay® and Google Pay™, keyed and card-not-present transactions, recurring payments, invoicing, and e-commerce sales. We support a wide range of hardware and software options, including traditional terminals, full POS systems, mobile readers, virtual terminals, and secure online payment gateways—so you can accept payments wherever your customers choose to pay.
How does your pricing model work, and how is it different from other providers?
We use an interchange-plus pricing model, which means you pay the actual wholesale interchange rates set by the card networks, plus a clear and consistent markup from us. There are no application or setup fees, no PCI compliance charges, and no early termination penalties. Our standard pricing is published for full transparency, and before you sign, we review your effective rate with you in plain language so you know exactly what to expect.
When can I expect to receive my funds?
With next-day funding, your card transactions are deposited into your bank account on the following business day. As long as your transactions are batched before the daily cutoff time, they are processed that evening and sent to your bank. Funds typically appear the next banking day, helping you maintain predictable cash flow for payroll, inventory, and daily expenses.
Will I need to switch banks to use Host Merchant Services?
No. You can keep your current bank. We’re able to deposit funds into nearly any U.S. business checking account. During onboarding, you’ll provide a voided check or bank letter, and we’ll connect your merchant account to your existing bank. If you change banks later, our support team can quickly update your deposit information to avoid any interruption in funding.
How is customer card data protected?
Security and compliance are built into our payment solutions. We support EMV chip transactions, point-to-point encryption (P2PE), and tokenization to keep card data encrypted during transmission and replace sensitive card numbers with secure tokens when stored. We also provide PCI-DSS compliance tools and partner with specialized security providers to include data-breach protection coverage with every merchant account, helping reduce risk and simplify compliance.

Approval and pricing are based on your individual risk profile, operating history, and chargeback activity, and all terms are clearly explained upfront. Some industries restricted by law or card-network rules may not be eligible.
Can you help reduce my processing costs beyond just offering competitive rates?
Yes. In addition to interchange-plus pricing, we offer tools designed to lower your overall cost of acceptance. This includes Level II and Level III data optimization for B2B and B2G transactions, which can qualify eligible payments for reduced interchange rates. Where allowed, we also offer surcharge and cash-discount programs. Our team reviews your transaction patterns, card mix, and average ticket size to identify cost-saving opportunities without negatively affecting the customer experience.
What happens if I receive a chargeback, and can you help me respond?
Yes. If a chargeback occurs:
- You’ll receive prompt notification through your reporting tools.
- Our team explains the reason for the dispute and what documentation is needed.
- We assist you in submitting receipts, signed invoices, order records, or other supporting evidence.
We also provide fraud-prevention tools such as AVS, CVV verification, EMV, and gateway-level filters to help reduce chargebacks before they happen.
I run a software platform—how do payment integrations and revenue sharing work?
We partner with ISVs and SaaS providers through our HMS Pay gateway and dedicated SaaS payments program. Integration options typically include:
